FBC Women to host drive through

The Cherokee 1st Monday Women will be hosting their women’s banquet a little differently this year due to COVID-19.

From 5:30-6:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 6, there will be a drive through where any woman can come through and pick up a “blessing bag”, which contains a light meal for one, and some small gifts. Then, at 7 p.m., they can turn to www.fbccherokee.com for a livestream presentation from this year’s speakers.

The speakers for the ladies’ night-in event will be missionaries Matt and LuSinda Spann.

Matt and LuSinda moved to Enid when in 2014 Matt became the Director of Missions (now called Associational Mission Strategist) for Cherokee Strip Baptist Association.

Prior to that, he and LuSinda, along with their 4 children, Paul, Karrington, Lydia, and Caleb, served for 10 years as IMB missionaries in Madagascar. Matt has lived in a lot of different places over the years, including Brazil, where his parents served as missionaries for 4 years and Russia, where he served as a missionary church planter/administrator before meeting LuSinda.

LuSinda is from Mooreland, and was very involved in ministry there and later at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church in Woodward prior to going to seminary and moving overseas.

She currently works in the Finance Office at Oklahoma Bible Academy in Enid.

The First Baptist Church is located at 614 South Grand.
