Alfalfa County to host several events soon
Over the next couple of weeks, Alfalfa County will host a slew of events and dinners.
With Halloween in the rear view mirror and Thanksgiving and Christmas coming up, Cherokee merchants will be open Sunday, Nov. 8, for the community’s annual Holiday Open House event.
Participating merchants will open their doors at 1 p.m. and remain open until 4 p.m. to give shoppers an opportunity to see what’s new this holiday season.
Multiple vendors will be in the Baker Building selling a variety of different products.
Some of the vendors include:
• Blazin Star Boutique.
• Salt Plains Sass.
• Teresa Kephart.
• Amantha Sanborn.
• Margaret Smith.
• Alicia Mitchell.
• Sarah Tidwell-Green.
• Thomas Allen.
• Jennifer Dooley.
• Others being added.
Some other businesses in Cherokee will also be open during the event.
4-H Dinner
The annual benefit dinner will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 8 at the Alfalfa County Exhibit Building in Cherokee.
To help keep our community and supporters safe during Phase 2 of the Coronavirus issue, there will be no cafeteria seating for the dinner. All meals will be handled as to go orders.
No need to call ahead for your order, or to leave your car. There will be containerized meals brought directly to your vehicle as you drive up in front of the Alfalfa County Exhibit Building. 4H’ers will still be making local deliveries, call 580-596-8144 for ordering and directions for delivery personnel.
The proceeds from the dinner will provide fee waivers for 4-H members to attend district, state and national events.
Jet Dinner
The Town of Jet will be holding a ‘Take Out Only” Thanksgiving dinner including your choice of turkey or ham.
The meal will be Sunday, November 22, 2020, with pick up time between 11:00 and 1:00. The Covid 19 virus has changed the way we live this year, so the traditional annual dinner is taking a different twist. You will still be able to enjoy a home cooked Thanksgiving dinner with dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, dinner roll, and pumpkin pie.
The dinner is by donation to benefit the Jet Morris Community Building.
You need to reserve your meal by November 15, 2020, by calling 580-626-4401.
