Burlington BOE discusses principals

The Burlington Board of Education met on Monday, Feb. 15 for their regular scheduled meeting.

The meeting was called to order with Terry Grahm, Robert Hill, April Kisling and Aaron Smith present. T.J. Rockenbach was absent.

The consent agenda was approved first, which consisted of the following:

• Agenda as part of the minutes.

• Minutes from Jan. 18.

• Minutes from Jan. 27.

• Minutes from Feb. 3.

• Contract with MAS for the 2021-2022 school year.

Also approved were the encumbrances, change orders, warrants and January activity report.

At 9:53 a.m. the board convened into executive session to discuss the re-employment of Tim Bart and Stan Pedersen as principals.

After returning to open session and the executive session compliance minutes were announced, no action was taken on rehiring the principals.

Next, Superintendent Dr. Stacey Croft expressed appreciation for parents and community members during the current basketball season with all of the changes that occurred and continue to occur. 

The high school boys’ basketball team have advanced to regional playoffs in Leedey where they will play Sharon Mutual on Saturday, February 20 with possible additional games on Monday, February 22 and Tuesday, February 23. 

Dr. Croft talked about how excellent sportsmanship has been displayed throughout the season and it is asked that our fans, players and coaches maintain this sportsmanship throughout the remainder of the season.

Dr. Croft gave her report:

• She reviewed mid-year expenses and revenue comparisons as well as the FY 21 initial and mid-year adjusted comparisons.

• School was currently in virtual learning and would continue due to the weather. They would return to in-person learning when the weather permitted.

After hearing no new business, the meeting adjourned at 12:06 p.m.
