Foster care ride & roll coming up
For those who love to feel the wind in their hair and love the passion of a good ride, an upcoming event will give participants that opportunity while also helping children in Foster Care in the state of Oklahoma.
A Foster Care Ride & Roll event is scheduled for May 1, and will get underway with registration from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. at the Moose Lodge in Enid.
After receiving a police escort through Enid, motorcyclists will continue on making stops at the Jiffy Trip in Lahoma, HammerHeads in Jet and Nash, Greasy Steve’s in Pond Creek, HammerHeads in Tonkawa before finishing the day back at the Moose Lodge in Enid.
Once back at the Moose Lodge, winners will be announced and participants will be able to bid on silent auction items while enjoying food, compliments of Jiffy Trip and Swadley’s.
Live entertainment will also be provided upon the return to the Moose Lodge.
The Enid Moose Lodge is located 302 E. Purdue Avenue.
Organizer Linda Briggs said the idea for the run came from April being National Child Abuse Prevention Month, while May is National Foster Care Awareness Month and Motorcycle Awareness Month.
The goal of the ride will be to raise awareness of all three observations.
