Magnificent Mom contest coming soon

Do you know a mom who could be Alfalfa County’s newest “Magnificent Mom”? If you do, now is the time to nominate her to become this year’s Magnificent Mom winner.

She doesn’t have to be your mom, your grandma or even a relative, just a mother who is a resident of Alfalfa County.

The contest features a first place prize of $50; second place, $30 and $20, third place.

Letters are not to exceed 250 words in length, explaining why you think this mother deserves to be named the “Magnificent Mom” in Alfalfa County.

The winner will be announced in the May 13 edition of the Cherokee Messenger & Republican, which will be our Mother’s Day Edition.

Letters should be mailed to the Messenger & Republican, P.O. Box 245, Cherokee, OK, 73728. They may also be e-mailed to news@cherokeenewspaper.com or brought by the office at 216 South Grand in Cherokee.

Deadline for accepting entries is 5 p.m., May 7.

Those making nominations must sign their name and include their address. Nominations should also include the telephone number of the mother being nominated.

The mother selected for first place will have her picture and the winning letter published in the newspaper.
