Carmen trash-off begins
Calling all Volunteers! The 2nd Annual Keep Oklahoma Beautiful Trash-Off starts this week. The organization meeting will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 8 at the After 55 Club. Trash bags, safety gloves and vests and information on trash collection safety will be distributed.
Janet Sheik is the local coordinator. Volunteers are needed who are interested in improving the appearance of the community.
Individuals are encouraged to clean up yards, streets and public areas, ditches, and abandoned areas to beautify our town. Individuals can collect trash at their own pace and time. Janet will need a count of the number of bags of trash collected.
Book Babes Field Trip
The Carmen Book Babes have selected the Osage book, “Killers of the Flower Moon” for their book selection this month. They will take a field trip to Pawhuska to the tribal historical places and tour the Pioneer Woman Mercantile and other sites May 17. Several copies of the book are available at the library.
