July 5th plans made

The Carmen Fire Department and Emergency Responders will once again hold their 5th of July Celebration.

There will be food trucks and lots of entertainment for the children.

Boss Music of Alva will provide music and entertainment throughout the evening. T-shirts will be available.

For information on vendors, contact Dylan Newman, fire chief at 580-541-2095. A fun and special evening is being planned.

Carmen VBS Set

The churches in Carmen will hold a one-day Vacation Bible School on Wednesday, August 4 at the Christian Church from 9-2.

There will be music, recreation, refreshments, crafts, and Bible lessons using the theme “Gone Fishing”.

Area youth Pre-K to 6th grade are urged to make plans to attend.

Memorial service for Nina Burkes will be at 2 Saturday at the Christian Church in Carmen.

The Christian Church will have a special Father’s Day tribute June 20.

Individuals who would like wood chips for landscape and garden projects can get them at the park north of the windmills.

Shari and Todd Crow and granddaughter of California have spent the week visiting her mom, Abbie Morrison and other relatives.

Jett Irlbeck of Lubbock spent last week with grandparents Margaret and Bob Goss.

It looks like the wheat will be ripe very soon. Have a safe and productive harvest!
