Car accident claims the life of one

A one vehicle accident in Alfalfa County claimed the life of a Weatherford resident.

At 10:44 p.m., Wednesday, June 16, emergency crews were dispatched to a single vehicle accident 2.25 miles west and 2.1 miles south of Lambert at County Road 550 and just south of Craig Road.

Kiersten Lemay Kubicek, 29 year-old from Weatherford, was driving a 2004 Subaru Legacy northbound on County Road 550 when she departed the roadway to the east for an unknown reason. The vehicle then crossed back over the roadway, departed the roadway to the west, striking an embankment in the ditch. It then overturned an unknown number of times, ejecting driver out of the rear driver’s side quarter window, and coming to rest on the left driver’s side, pinning the driver underneath for approximately 20 minutes. Driver was extricated by Carmen Fire and Rescue.

Kubicek was pronounced deceased on the scene from unknown injuries.

According to the accident report released by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the accident and condition of the driver are under investigation.

The accident was investigated by Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper Randy McCullough. He was assisted by Alfalfa County Sheriff’s Department, Carmen Fire and Rescue and Alfalfa County EMS.
