Carmen to have mini park

The Carmen City Council has announced plans for a mini-park at the library which will be the Carmen Cain Park. Cain was the former librarian for many years and had the vision for a new and larger library for the town.

The park will help serve the needs of children on the north side of town.

Here And There

The library has new DVD’s, books, and children’s books. Visit the library and get books for the children to keep reading skills during the summer. There are still summer reading backpacks available.

Dinner at the After 55 will be Friday, June 25 with meatloaf and green beans served. Bring salads, side dishes, and desserts.

Vacation Bible School planning meeting will be June 27 at the Christian Church at 1:30. Workers will be needed and cash donations would be appreciated to make a special day for the children on August 4.

Orders for t-shirts for the 5th of July Celebration are being taken now. Contact Katie Irwin to reserve a shirt, which are $15 each. The shirts are white or black and feature the Carmen water tower with fireworks in the background.

Happy Father’s Day!
