Carmen to host community VBS
There will be a Carmen Community Vacation Bible School on Wednesday, August 4 from 9 a.m. to 2 at the Christian Church. The theme is “Gone Fishing” and is for youth Pre-K to 6th grade. The VBS will include Bible lessons, music, crafts, snacks, recreation and a noon meal. There will be a program for parents at 2 o’clock. Pre-enrollment is encouraged with forms available at the Methodist Church, Christian Church and library.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Here and There
A memorial service will be held for former resident Carrie Ganon Speaker on August 7th at 2 at the cemetery in Mooreland, OK.
There will not be a July dinner at the After 55 Club in July as several members are vacationing.
A Pocket Park in memory of former librarian Carmen Cain is started at the Carmen library. The park will help serve the needs of children on the north and west side of town.
Book Babes will meet August 19th at 2 p.m. where the book to discuss will be “Crazy Rich Asians” by Kevin Kwan. The book is available at the library.
