Alfalfa County Courthouse to be closed today

The Alfalfa County Commissioners met at 10 a.m., Aug. 23, for their weekly meeting.

The meeting was called to order with Marvin Woodall, Jay Hague and Mike Roach present.

The minutes, maintenance and operation warrants for payment and blanket purchase orders were approved first.

No road crossing permits were submitted for approval.

Next, the commissioners approved for the county clerk to go out on bid for 12 month ballots.

A rate increase and revised detention services agreement by and between Sequoyah Enterprises, Inc. and the county was also approved.

The handbook change previously discussed in past meetings was approved with an increase to $25 per day.

A declaration of surplus for District 3 for Kuker Sprayer was approved as well as a VoiceProducts Service LLC Service Contract with the sheriff’s office.

The final item of business was approving a material request form for District 1.

Under unforeseen business the commissioners announced the courthouse would be closed all day Thursday for a funeral.

The meeting then adjourned.

August 16

The Alfalfa County Commissioners met at 10 a.m., Aug. 16, for their weekly meeting.

The meeting was called to order with Woodall, Hague and Roach present.

The minutes, maintenance and operation warrants for payment and blanket purchase orders were approved first.

No road crossing permits were submitted for approval.

Next, two requests were approved as follows:

• Requisitioning officer for county clerk for a name change for Laneta Schwerdtfeger.

• Appoint Roach and Jennifer Hensley as requisitioning officers for ARP Fund- General and Woodall and Laura Hague as receiving officer for ARP Fund-General.

No action was taken on the handbook change for meals for classes on page 15.

A written quote from Stans for $7,500 for finish grinding/milling in place on Garvin Road for 1 mile was approved.

Next, the commissioners awarded the bid for a tractor for road drag for District 3 to P&K Equipment for $144,677.24.

A private property access easement in District 3 was approved to remove trees from right-of-way and place on farmer’s land was approved.

The sealed bid for real estate of old elevator Lot 7 less railroad including alley and lots 8 & 9 Block 14 in Cherokee Original was opened and accepted from Wilber Fertilizer for $1,500.

A revised SEFA FY 2020 and SEFA FY 2021 were both approved.

A customer service agreement with UniFirst for District 3 was also approved.

The final item of business approved was a material request form for District 3.

After hearing no unforeseen business, the meeting adjourned.
