Farmerettes OHCE hold July meeting

Farmerettes OHCE Group held their July meeting in the home of Terri Woods.  President Elisa Crowder called the meeting to order and led in the Flag Salute.  Cheryl Poe gave the devotional “Solomon’s Request” with emphasis on wisdom and a final thought “Imitate the Life of Jesus.”

Thirteen members answered the Roll Call Question, “Name one of your favorite travel spots.”  Marlene Buck, Lynetta Cressler, Elisa Crowder, Nancy Lambert, Sharon LaRue, Tammi Miller, Alicia Mitchell, Carolyn Passwater, Cheryl Poe, Loretta Sharp, Pauline Trissell, Terri Woods and Delana Hansel all shared their favorite spot.

Loretta Sharp presented the lesson, “Immunizations & Vaccines” and discussed the benefits, risks and effectiveness of immunizations, important reasons why someone should get immunized, the safety of approved vaccines and the vaccine myths.

The minutes were read and approved and the treasurer’s report was presented and approved.

Sharp reported on the next Blood Drive to be held July 29 at the Alfalfa County Fairgrounds, Exhibit Building, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.  Buck will make the sandwich spread; Woods, Trissell, LaRue and Poe will make the sandwiches; Marguerite McMurtrey, Sharp and Poe will call to make appointments and Mitchell and Cressler will work in the canteen.  Sharp, McMurtrey and Pat Marzolf will work at the reception table.

The Farmerettes Project and Educational Fair booths were discussed.  The Alfalfa County Fair will be September 8 – 11 with set-up on the 7th.

The Housing Tour committee reported they are beginning to sign up people to show their homes on their annual Housing Tour on December 5.  Contact Terri Woods or Marguerite McMurtrey if you would like to volunteer.

July 23 will be the Leader Lesson with Executive Committee meeting to follow.

Farmerettes’ next meeting will be at 7 p.m., August 5 with Tammi Miller as hostess, McMurtrey as lesson leader and Tammy Riggs will have the devotion.

Meeting adjourned and Woods served refreshments.  Buck won the door prize.
