The U.S. Census Bureau released updated numbers following the 2020 census.

Population

The report indicates the population of Major County grew by 3.4 percent over the last 10 years.
In terms of numbers, the population increased by 255 to 7,782 when compared to the 7,527 recorded during the 2010 census.
Major County’s growth in terms of percentages was the second highest recorded in the immediate area that covers Garfield, Woodward, Kingfisher, Blaine, Woods, Major, Alfalfa and Grant counties, falling just shy of the 3.7 percent increase in Garfield County.
In terms of actual numbers, Major County saw the third highest increase in population with its 255 increase. Garfield saw an increase of 2,226 while Woodward County saw an increase of 389 or 1.9 percent.
The biggest decline came just south of Major County in Blaine County. Blaine County took a major hit losing 3,208 from its population which equates to a 26.9 percent reduction.
Grant County also saw a decline of 358 or 7.9 percent while Woods County saw a decrease of 254 or 2.9 percent.
Kingfisher saw an increase of 150 or 1 percent while Alfalfa County increase by 57 or 1 percent.
