Robert Franklin Cunningham

Robert Franklin Cunningham was born in Alva to Frankie D. Cunningham and Shirley Gibson Cunningham on February 24, 1958 and passed from this life on May 31, 2022 at his home in Cherokee.  Robert lived in this area all his life. 

Robert had many occupations during his life which included Hiland milkman, oilfield roughneck, farmer, truck driver.  He also worked as a carpenter for Roger Cunningham and Rex and Debbie’s RD Decorating. 

Robert’s favorite pastimes included camping, hunting, especially coyote hunting with his greyhounds, fishing, spending time with his kids, grandkids, and family, as well as his beloved Yorkies, Penny, Boomer, and Roofie.  He loved finding sand plums and gardening.  He was a firm believer in his medical marijuana.  He loved his guns and was a member of the Cherokee Gun and Rod Club. Robert drank black coffee 24/7.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Frankie and Shirley and son, Robert Franklin Cunningham II.

Survivors include, his wife, Carlene Simons Cunningham of Cherokee; three children, Keshia, Carmen, Brandon and Ericka, Alva, Brandi and Ricky, Arkansas; mother of his children, Judy Robacker, Mo.; sisters, Regena and David, Attica, Kan. Rhonda and Robert, Enid, Rita, Arkansas; brothers, Rex and Debbie, Avard, Roger and Melanie, Alva, Richard, Cherokee; three grandchildren, Remington, Zachary, and Skylar; many nieces and nephews, and his three Yorkies.

Service for Robert will be at 11  a.m., Tuesday, June 7, 2022 in the Exhibit Building at Alfalfa County Fairgrounds.

There will be no viewing.  Burial will follow at Cherokee Municipal Cemetery with arrangements by Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Cherokee.  www.lanmanmemorials.com  Facebook: Lanman Funeral Home Inc.

Memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society through the funeral home
